Dear Colleague,
I currently have a grant application pending with the NIH. The application requests funds for the continued development, support and distribution of SNNAP (Simulator for Neural Networks and Action Potentials). My Program Director at the NIH has indicated that my application would be substantially strengthened if I submitted letters from SNNAP users. The letters should describe how the user’s academic and/or research activities have benefited from using SNNAP. You also may wish to describe the factors that influenced your choice of SNNAP and/or any future plans you have to use the neurosimulator.
Unfortunately, time is short. If you choose to respond, your letter of support would be most helpful if it arrived before December 6, 2004. The letters may take any form (e.g., a simple E-mail message or a more formal document on letterhead). In addition, if you have published a paper or developed course material that use SNNAP, a copy of the paper or material would also be very helpful. You may send your replies to me, or you may post them on the SNNAP Forum (http://snnap.uth.tmc.edu/post/), or you may send them directly to the NIH (Dr. Bret Peterson, PetersoB @ mail . nih . gov) .
I thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely, Doug Baxter
